When I began to learn more about makeup I was also introduced to the world of skincare. Prior to this year I didn’t do anything more than use Lubriderm lotion every night after I showered. I have extremely dry skin so every time I shower the hot water dries me out and leaves my skin, especially my legs, extremely itchy so it was necessary that I used something to avoid itching all night long. After I started to learn more about skincare, I began to add a few more things here and there to my routine and it has really changed my skin. Remember, this routine works for my skin because it is really dry. I am not sure how it would work with oily skin because I focus on adding moisture to the skin. Here are the products I use,
1. Neutrogena Makeup Cleansing Towelettes
Before bed I always take off my makeup using these makeup wipes. I make sure to scrub the makeup off around my forehead and nose the best because this is where I tend to breakout.
2. Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser
Next, after I get in the shower, I apply this cleanser all over my face and let it sit there for about 30 seconds.
3. Fancii Waterproof Cleansing Spin Brush
Then, I use this waterproof spin brush from Fancii to scrub the cleaner on my face. This brush exfoliates my skin and continues to remove any makeup that I missed. This brush set in particular comes with 3 brush heads that suit different skin sensitivities. The set also comes with a silicon brush head which some people prefer due to increased cleanliness. Once the cleaner has been scrubbed in I rinse it off.
4. Elizabeth Arden Millennium Night Cream
After I get out of the shower, I apply this Elizabeth Arden night cream to my face and neck liberally. This cream has really improved the moisture in my skin and has helped reduce smiles and frown lines on my face.
5. Lubriderm Advanced Therapy Lotion
Then, I apply this lotion all over my body. This specific kind of Lubriderm is made for especially dry skin and it helps with the itchiness that I mentioned earlier.
6. Baby Lips Lip Balm
Finally, I apply Baby Lips lip balm all over my lips. I apply lip balm several times a day to avoid dry and cracked lips, chapped lips is one of my pet peeves!
In the Morning
1. Tarte Quench Primer
In the morning I do not wash my face to avoid drying it out any further. Instead, I apply this hydrating primer before I put on my makeup and then I am good to go for the day!
This is my skin care routine, I hope it was helpful for anybody who also suffers from dry skin like me! Thank you so much for reading.
